I have been using Jaksta Media Recorder for a long time now. I have just updated my Jaksta Media Recorder 2022 to the latest (2023.5.8.1), and my when I enter the activation key, I receive an error message "key is invalid". I have checked, and I have definitely entered the key details correctly.
I would be grateful for your assistance in activating the updated version.
Also, I now have three separate versions of Jaksta Media Recorder on my system (7, 2022 and 2023). Once I have properly activated JMR 2023, can I safely uninstall the previous versions without causing problems with JMR 2023?

The JMR download page still makes the claim that existing licence holders are entitled to access all the features of JMR2023.
I have used JMR for well over ten years, ever since the days of JMR6. I have never encountered a problem with the software and any issues arising from websites changing their protocols have always been dealt with by extraction engine updates. So this silence in the face of so many users experiencing difficulties is not in keeping with the way Jaksta have behaved in the past. Let's hope that this is just a blip.

I have the same issue. I contacted support on the 10th of May, but there is no response for 6 days.
Luckily, it did leave the 2022 version installed, and I did not un-install it..... the 2022 version still works normally, except it gives the message that the 2023 version is available.

Marcos... on your computer go to "this PC" and click on your downloads list. Chances are you will see the links to previous versions of Jaksta which will enable you to return to the earlier version.
Before you do, check out the thread "Reinstall Jaksta 2022" on this forum and follow the steps that have been kindly explained by another contributor.
JMR2023 seems to have corrupted some DVR components so the uninstalling of this version is important before reinstalling the earlier version.

If your system is set to "create a restore point" when downloading windows updates, you may be able to take your computer back to a point before JMR2023 was installed. Go to control panel, system status, system recovery. Look at the screens carefully and you will be able to discover what programmes will be affected if you run the restore. This process does not change any of your files or documents. Only proceed if you are happy to do so.

Sadly the file JMR 2022.3.13.0.exe is too large to attach. If you look at the thread "JMR 2023.5.8.1 update failed" started by Patricia you will find that she has linked the old version - and this may be useful to you if it works.
There may be other alternatives out there but I have never had to look as JMR has always been so reliable, it also does everything and the licence doesn't expire after six months or have to be purchased every year as many other software companies do.
I am sure Jaksta will get this sorted in due course.

What surprises me more than anything is that there is absolutely no response from the Jaksta team. I mean, I think any of us will totally understand if they made a mistake and said: "Guys, we messed up, this version messes up the license, please wait and give us some time to release a fixed version", and that would be the end of it.
But instead.... there is total silence. No announcement on the forum, no response to support emails, nothing.....
I guess I should be happy to know I am not the only one with the license key issue, so it is not just me....

I am less enthused than @Maarten Andriessen that I am not the only one facing this issue. I have also noticed that the 2023 update doesn't remove the 2022 software, so I manually uninstalled it. I also have the further issue that even tho I installed the most recent update v 2023.5.10.2, but when I launch JMR, it tells me I have v 2023.5.8.1 installed. It has had this behavior for the last 2 version upgrades. It also told me when I upgraded to v 2023.5.8.1 that I needed to re-register, however when I closed the program and opened it again, I did not get the message and my Activation Key was correctly listed in the software.
I am disheartened that so many people have raised a ticket with support without any response. I emailed support@ yesterday and raised a proper ticket on the site today. But I guess I shouldn't expect any miracles with getting a response..
I am current cleaning up my registry after uninstalling the software. It seems there is alot of cruft left over for v7 v2022 and v2023. I have versions of JMR and JVC back to 7.0.0.46. I'll probably hold out until the beginning of next week and reinstall a prior version and see if my activation key works.
Here's to hoping!!!

Have you tried reinstalling MR-2022.3.13.0?
I've had the same problem that many of you have had with the JMR-2023 Update - it won't recopgnize my license key.
On 05-05-2023 I received an email from Jaksta support:
Your activation code will remain valid for all future versions of Jaksta for Windows.
Therfore, no new license should be necessary.
The following steps worked for me to reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 for Windows after the JMR-2023 update failure.
PLEASE NOTE: Thhis assumes you have a copy of JMR-2022.3.13.0.exe
1. Completeley uninstall JMR-2023. i used Geek Uninstaller to do this.
a) JMR-2023 has 3 components; NPcap, NetMonitor, and JMR-2023. I uninstalled NeMonitor and NPCap first, then JMR-2023.
2. If you still have JMR-2022.3.13.0 installed, try it. If it works, great. If not, proceed to step 3.
3. Completeley uninstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (see step 1, Geek Uninstaller)
4. Reboot, then reinstall JMR-2022.3.13.0 (if you have it).
This procedure recovered JMR-2022.3.13.0, and my old license key worked. Until they get JMR-2023 fixed, I suggest you go to the "Get Support" tab in JMR-2022 and set "Check for new version on start" to OFF.
Hope this helps.

Yes, that's really true and since I'm also a Replay Capture Suite user since 2012, I did make a search on the new upgrade Replay Capture Suite 2023 and I find out that the new licence mode working is now on a anually base. I say this because I suspect that Jaksta is now trying to implement this type of licencement. None of my various licence keys work on the new upgraded versions, be it from Applian Technologies, be it from Jaksta Technologies Pty Ltd, and I should say that have already payed several licences key all over this time.

Still the same not working licence issue with this new version JMR-2023.5.19.4: I still get an invalid key licence.
They (Jaksta) definitlly change the existing licence contract with the introduction of the new 2023 version, resetting all working lincences and making them useless with these new 2023 version. It's unbelivable!

The download page on the website clearly states that all the JMR2023 versions so far have been fully accessible to existing licence holders.
It looks like they are trying to implement a two step validation for the software and it just isn't working. I hope our failed attempts at validating the key will not be met with a "too many attempts" banner locking us out when it's finally sorted.

I asked Applian support if the had aquired Jaksta and if they intend to merge JMR with RMC at some point. This is their answer: "They have acquired Jaksta. At this time we are planning to keep the programs separate but the licensing will follow Applian licensing policies."
This means that any new version will require an upgrade license. This begins with the 2023 JMR release. I don't recall seeing an upgrade license for JMR, but the upgrade license for RMC is $15 if you owned a previous version.

Terrible Customer care if the intention is for customers on 2022 to pay for a new licence. If indeed they are changing, this should have been communicated to customers and advised that as of x release we will be moving to a new model. Not just cutting us off when the download page itself says it should work for 2022 users.
Lack of communication is a massive disappointment and causes more issues with customers than a communication of the facts.

Leaving aside the legal issues surrounding such a course of action, at the very least the new version should be moved onto a new web page and the 2022 version left available for existing customers. Probably advisable to back up your download links to a USB stick, then you will still have access to previous versions when your current computer needs to be replaced.

I agree if they change the license model they should make both versions available and not prompt each time you open the old app Bare minium they should provide a clear indication on the download page that you will not be able to license the new version withyour old license.
I have had another issue that has been open without response for over a month and they have not responded to this issue so I doubt I will re-license under the new model. It appears customer support no longer exists.

Well, my 2022 version still works, and I will just continue using it until it doesn't...... but going forward in the future, I am VERY disappointed they did not honor the license agreement we agreed upon with Jaksta, and that is that all future versions of the software product would be available to paid users.
I have used this software with much pleasure, but when it comes time to make a decision on buying a newer version of this product, or investigate what other products are out there..... I am not so sure I would spend money on Jaksta again.
They have really burned their existing customer base with this, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this software in any product reviews I might do.

We purchased perpetual licenses from Jaksta not a 2022 version. When Applian bought Jaksta they bought into that same license agreement. You can set whatever terms and pricing you want for licenses that you sell after the acquisition, but the pre-existing licenses agreements that you bought into should still hold.
