Jaksta sometimes deletes the wrong file when the second connection attempt fails
Hello,
I usually use monitors to start new Youtube recordings. Unfortunately, Jaksta sometimes deletes the recordings for me.
To recreate:
- Create a monitor for a Youtube live stream that will have a defined start and end. Please see the screenshots for the settings I use.
- Start the monitor and enable the main switch for monitors.
- Check that the stream starts and that Jaksta starts recording it.
- Wait for the stream to end. After remuxing, the initial recording will have the status Complete.
- Since the recording has stopped, the monitor will attempt to start it again. It adds a number at the end of the file name, e.g. "The Show 2025-04-08 Jaksta SBS 480p 1.mp4". This recording will be listed as Connecting since the stream has ended.
- To stop the redundant recording, first stop the monitor so that it won't start yet another recording.
- Then Stop the second recording that is Connecting. After a while, it disappears from the list.
- Use Remove on the original recording, still with a Complete status, tom remove it from the list.
In the Windows Explorer, I can now find only the second recording (screenshot). Jaksta has deleted the wrong file.
The only way around this for me is to always stop the monitor before the live stream ends.
Please change Jaksta so that it deletes the file with the most recent suffix when this happens and not the original file without a suffix.
Please let me know what else I can send you, or if you would like me to suggest upcoming live streams to test with.
