Jaksta Crashes Often in Latest Windows 10

I recently updated my Windows 10 to the latest version (a week or two ago) and Jaksta periodically crashes. I've reinstalled Jaksta but that didn't help. It only occurs when detection is on and irrespective of whether things are being downloaded/recorded or not.

Are you still committed to Jaksta? I am running into increasing problems with it and you still haven't replied to my last topic concerning something that has been an issue for many months now.

Sorry to hear that you are having issues since upgrading your OS.

It is not something that is happening for everyone based on our stats, or other forum posts/support requests from Jaksta or Applian.

If it is only when monitoring is on then it could be the Winpcap or NDIS driver depending on which you are using.  Have you tried uninstalling them and rebooting?

What sort of crash is it?  JMR just disappears or do you get a dialog of any error?

Debug logs are in C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\Temp\Jaksta.  After a crash, zip them up and post them back here with an msinfo dump.

In "Type here to search" type msinfo and select System Information and then file > save.

Of course we are still committed to Jaksta.  There was a mac update last week and the windows extraction engine was updated just yesterday.

I haven't any logs since restarting Jaksta this evening. I did reinstall Jaksta two days ago to see if it made a difference. I'll post log next time it crashes. Thanks.

Uninstall winpcap and/or the Jaksta NDIS driver and reboot.  These are separate installers -  see your Add Remove Programs

A secondary symptom during crashes was loss of internet connection. Today I uninstalled Winpcap and Network Monitor (which is NDIS driver, correct?) and reinstalled Winpcap. Jaksta no longer crashes but sometimes during recording, it becomes inoperative and I lose internet. The only thing I can do in Jaksta is turn auto off and on, which unfreezes the other controls and restores internet.

I've attached today's logs. Note that I reinstalled Winpcap at 14:25 so you might want to disregard earlier logs from when Jaksta was crashing, as described in my first post.

I take back what I said earlier; Jaksta is crashing in all different manners. Sometimes it momentarily fails (coupled with the loss of internet) with a single part of its GUI missing, replaced with a red x. When it crashes and closes, I get the error message System.OutOfMemoryException; which is present in the logs.

The crash is happening at a very low level - not actually in our code.

Possibly the .NET installation on your machine is corrupt as all the memory errors are from core user interface and even trying to load the .net config file.

System.Threading.ThreadExceptionEventArgs:An error occurred loading a configuration file: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config)

Hopefully the system info file can point us in the right direction.

Your windows event logs are full of faulting applications related to .net.  Id recommend a restore or rebuild.  Sorry I can be of much help with this.

Well, we've isolated the issue, so thanks. I'll see if I can sort it tomorrow.
