I have installed Jaksta to record from a popular streaming site and in different browsers give different problems. With Jaksta set to "auto on" :
In Firefox with adobe flash, the recordings are flv files which aren't ideal, and if the resolution of the stream changes, the recorded file is corrupt and won't play correctly. I'd rather not have flv files if possible but can't change it.
In chrome, IE and opera, the recordings are direct from the streams in MP4 format which I prefer don't and seem to be affected if the resolution changes. However, if I stop or delete a recording, it restarts by itself even after closing the website or tab. The only way to stop the recording is turn auto off and back on each time which is a pain.
Please advise if this can be fixed
Thanks

Yep sites stream different protocols in different browsers. If you don't want flash, disable the plugin. Flash is gone in Dec anyway.
If AUTO is still on and your browser makes a request for a stream it will be picked up unless exactly the same stream is downloading. Live streams, in particular, make constant requests for new streams. If you close the tab hosting a video then Im not sure how it is possible the same stream that stream is being picked up.
If you don't want new streams detected turn AUTO off, or click the Process New Streams button (the green thumb).
If you are still having issues then please provide the website and debug logs as per https://www.jaksta.com/support/windows/technical/jaksta-media-recorder/how-to-generate-debug-logs-6000009063
